Have Your PAR Facilitator Observe You for YEAR 1 Fall

In Year 1, the PAR Facilitator serves as your second mentor. Ask questions or meet with me as often as you need to. I'm here to help!

Schedule an Observation

If you are teaching faculty, you'll need me to observe a class session (modality of your choice). If you are service or reassigned faculty, you can have me observe any primary work activity. That might be a workshop or one-time lesson, but it might be a consultation, project, curated collection, strategic programming, curriculum development, etc. It can be a regularly scheduled course session if you are also teaching.

*Your mentors can observe different things if you choose.

Share Files

Share Document Icon
  • Open a new copy of the Mentor Observation form.
  • Fill in information about you and what you want me to observe. If you're not sure, I can help you select topics or give you general feedback.
  • Share the document with me so I can provide feedback! If you need me to, I will start it, then share with you.

Best Practice: Leave the document as a Google Doc for easiest sharing. You want to be the owner of this file for later use!

Best Practice: Pre-select the Areas of Observation or Critical Teaching Behaviors/Strategies that you most want feedback on. You and your mentor should work together to determine any specific things you want them to observe or if you prefer general feedback in an area.

Complete the Observation(s)

NOVEMBER 10 is the deadline to complete Fall Observations and Evaluations.

Post-Observation Discussion

Our NFE events are the ideal opportunity to discuss feedback and any other topics. If you'd prefer to meet privately, please let me know. Remember that mentor feedback is the basis for your IDP reflection. I will also review your IDP and help you organize or revise it.

Best Practice: Add to your IDP as you go! Remember to store this observation file in an 'IDP Materials' folder; you will upload the entire folder contents to your IDP later.
