The Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a written reflection of your experiences and all observations/evaluations for the year. It is an opportunity to identify your strengths and areas for development as well as to demonstrate engagement with Service and Professional Development activities.

District-wide, the IDP is written and filed using a template through Google Sites organized according to the Three Pillars of PAR:

Use the dropdown menus to move to the next section of your IDP. Example: if you were a YR2 PAR Faculty last year you will now work in the YR3 section of your IDP.

Core Functional Area Page

Write your reflection on the feedback you received from your mentor(s), chair or designee, instructional dean, and students. Also include a self reflection. The reflection should include your plans for developing yourself in the area of instruction, assessment, classroom management, etc. If you can, target some specific workshops, conferences, etc. you plan on attending.

Reflections vary in length depending on the individual. A few examples are provided in this course.

Service/Reassigned Faculty will reflect on their primary work activities. Confirm appropriate activities with your chair or director.

Each service post should include a personal reflection on the service activity and your contributions.

Professional Development Page

Each professional development post should include a personal reflection on the activity and your achievements.

Notes

The number of service and professional development posts will vary depending on the individual and their level of involvement. For example, chairing a committee that meets twice a month is a greater commitment than being a member of a committee that meets once a semester.

If you use photos of students in your IDP (not required) make sure the students in the photo have signed the permission to be photographed form (release forms webpage) and include this form with the photo.

Faculty and their Mentors should use the "What to Look for in an IDP" checklist to revise and review the final draft of your IDP before submitting to your designated PARC team in March.
