Arizona Music Industry Bachelor's Degrees

ASU Bachelor's degree in Popular Music (Performance and Production Emphasis)

Arizona State University offers the first Music Business degree in the state with their Bachelor in Popular Music. The popular music program at Arizona State University welcomes commercial music creators including singers and songwriters, music producers, laptop performers, popular music musicians, composers and vocalists with an interest in popular performance and production.

The ASU bachelor's degree in popular music prepares students for potential careers including:

  • concert management and promotion
  • entrepreneurship
  • music marketing
  • music performance in the popular music sector
  • music publishing
  • nonprofit arts related work
  • teaching a private studio

NAU 90/30 Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Non-performance emphasis)

Northern Arizona University offers the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Strategic Leadership as a guaranteed transfer pathway for MCC Music Business students interested in a non-performance, business-focused degree. This co-hort program accepts up to 90 Community College credits. Students in this program take an additional 30 credits in business and leadership with NAU on the MCC Campus.

Out-of-State & International Transfer Opportunities

MCC Music Business students can transfer to a variety of out-of-state, 4-year Music Business & Music Technology programs including: Berklee College of Music, University of Colorado, Belmont, NYU, Drexel, Middle Tennessee State University and others.

Belmont, Middle Tennessee State, Berklee and University of Colorado all have very well respected Recording programs. Locally in Phoenix-CRAS-- the Conservatory of Recording Arts also offers additional Recording courses. CSU Northridge has a good Audio program that you may want to explore.
