Welcome to your first lecture. Each lecture is composed of "inputs" (what you need to learn) and "outputs" (what you need to complete for a grade). This section should take you about 3 (THREE) hours to complete. This is the equivalent of coming to a one hour lecture three times a week.

INPUT

The following image is a table with many legs. Imagine that each leg is a hypothesis. The table is a theory, which is supported by many hypotheses (or legs). A single hypothesis can be tested and data might reject that hypothesis, but as long as there are many other supported hypotheses (legs) the theory (or table) will still stand. A theory is used to make further predictions, and more research is built from that. Imagine on your table you now have a laptop, an mri machine etc. These concepts are built from having stable scientific theories with great support (many legs).

2. gravitational theory

3. cell theory
